Victoria is a Seattle-based technical advisor for the firm's Patent Prosecution & Portfolio Counseling practice with extensive experience in healthcare technology.
Victoria Kabat’s diverse education and technical experience enable her to quickly understand complex technologies and challenges. Victoria focuses on the medical device, digital health, and clean energy spaces, where she assists in delivering insightful and actionable recommendations to clients regarding their technical assets. She works closely with startups at varying stages, from initial concept development to market entry, ensuring their innovations are well-protected through robust patents. Her experience extends to other facets of patent practice, including aiding in freedom-to-operate and patentability landscape searches and research projects.
While earning her B.S. in biomedical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Victoria participated in a team partnership with the Mayo Clinic to develop an implantable device for the recurrent and minimally invasive re-administration of cellular therapies to the brain to treat gliomas. She also previously worked as a patent agent intern for a law firm, where she conducted patentability, clearance, and invalidity searches and drafted patent applications and opinion memos for clients, providing her with a strong foundation in patent prosecution work.
