Dr. Rodney Swartz II is a member of the firm's Patent Litigation practice in the firm's Portland office, focusing on disputes involving life science patents, particularly Hatch-Waxman cases.
Rodney also has experience handling the licensing of technology, including reviewing and drafting license terms, navigating government restrictions with government-funded technology, conducting due diligence, and handling open-source licensing challenges.
Rodney earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he served as senior articles editor on the Santa Clara Law Review. He also has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Washington and received a B.S. in chemistry from Purdue University.
With a passion for pro bono work, Rodney has assisted individuals and families seeking asylum and protected vulnerable children through impact litigation.
