Melissa is a scientist with 10 years of industry and academic research experience.
Dr. Melissa MacEwen’s extensive scientific experience spans such areas as protein-protein interactions, cell signaling, and metabolism. Her work is reflected in several peer-reviewed publications, including four publications for which she is the first author. While working in commercial antibody development and manufacturing, Dr. MacEwen focused on bioassay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) development, serving as a potency subject matter expert (SME) for several first in human (FIH) and late-stage monoclonal antibody (mAb) client programs. She has been awarded two competitive National Institutes of Health grants.
Melissa is passionate about community and educational outreach. She completed a Science Communication Fellowship at the Pacific Science Center in 2018 and served as a vice president of the Science and Engineering Business Association (SEBA) at the University of Washington from July 2019 to July 2021.
