Matt is a Patent Litigation associate with deep technical knowledge and experience representing cutting-edge clients.
Matthew Lutz brings to the practice several years of experience in project management, software development, and cybersecurity. His software experience includes roles in consulting and in the information technology (IT) department of a Fortune 500 company. Additionally, he worked as a cybersecurity consultant at a Big 4 accounting firm. As a patent litigator, he represents a range of clients—from small, privately held companies to large, multinational corporations. Matt has experience taking and defending depositions, analyzing source code, and drafting expert reports, infringement contentions, discovery requests and responses, and motions to dismiss, among other things.
Matt received his J.D. from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where he served as the technology editor for the Arizona State Law Journal. Before law school, he earned his M.S. in management information systems and his B.S. in management information systems and economics from the University of Alabama.
