Marya Burnette Carter

Marya Carter earned her J.D. with a concentration in advocacy from Cornell Law School, where she was a Pro Bono scholar and the editor-in-chief of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy.

While in law school, Marya served as a student attorney and mediator with the Movement Lawyering Clinic, Campus Mediation Practicum, and Tenants Advocacy Practicum. In 2016, she interned for the White House's Office of Presidential Correspondence. The following year, she was a digital press intern for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

Marya was a summer associate at Perkins Coie in 2021 and a diversity fellow in 2020.
