Marissa Shirdez has experience in structuring and negotiating agreements involving strategic alliances, collaborations, patent licenses, service delivery arrangements, clinical trials, sponsored research, and various supply chain relationships. She has served startups and Fortune 500 companies across a range of technologies, including cybersecurity, satellite imagery, emerging nuclear power technology, custom silicon and semiconductors, data center equipment, biologics, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
Within the cybersecurity domain, she has worked with consumer and enterprise identity and network access products, navigating risks specific to cryptography, encryption, and private key infrastructure industry standards.
Marissa is also dedicated to pro bono work, particularly in asylum law.
While attending Duke University School of Law, Marissa served as a member of the First-Generation Professionals Group (1GP), Latin American Law Student Association, and Duke Law and Technology Review. Prior to entering the legal profession, Marissa worked as an 8th grade math teacher in Houston, Texas, through Teach for America, and was elected student body president of Lewis & Clark College during her undergraduate studies.
