Kermesha Carter is a discovery attorney within the firm's Labor & Employment Law practice and E-Discovery Services & Strategy practice. Armed with an LL.M. in taxation, Kermesha has acquired a broad array of legal experience over the course of her career in areas such as taxation, labor and employment, and e-discovery.

As a former employment investigator for a state's fair employment practices agency (FEPA), Kermesha is well-versed and capable in successfully handling Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters, with over 200 investigations under her belt.

With 13 years of experience, Kermesha is considered an e-discovery specialist in performing all facets of document review from first-level review to the creation of privilege logs. Adept at using most e-discovery software, such as Relativity, Kermesha has completed reviews in practice areas such as bankruptcy, labor and employment, intellectual property, real estate transactions, taxation, healthcare, and products liability. Most recently, in addition to traditional review duties, Kermesha successfully tackled recurrent, special litigation research projects and key witness deposition investigations that were geared toward assisting counsel with the development of litigation strategy for a products liability class action matter. Further, clients and colleagues alike can attest to Kermesha's talent for developing innovative review processes which aid clients in wading through vast volumes of data to create cohesive data sets.

Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Kermesha served as a tax attorney for a tax resolution firm where she prepared a variety of tax returns and represented individual clients with audit and deficiency issues before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
