Jun Hyuk (Zach) Hong
Zach advises a broad range of companies, from early-stage startups to multinational corporations, on business-critical intellectual property (IP) issues.
Zach Hong works with his clients to develop IP strategies and patent portfolios, conducts and defends IP due diligence, and performs patent landscape searches and freedom to operate analyses. His experience also includes drafting and prosecuting trademark applications, conducting trademark searches, and preparing search opinions. He drafts and negotiates IP-related agreements, including those involving licensing, provisions in mergers and acquisitions, joint development agreements, and IP transfer agreements. His clients operate in industries including medical devices, software, digital health, entertainment, fashion, food and beverage, biotechnology, chemical engineering, and sporting goods.
Zach's guidance to clients is strengthened by his experience as general counsel and chief compliance officer of a venture-backed, growth-stage digital health and medical device company. In this role, he helped develop the company's strategic direction and operational decision-making and assisted with managing enterprise risk. He also advised the executive team and board of directors on legal matters.
