David J. Gold

David represents clients in general commercial litigation, financial restructuring, bankruptcy, and distressed real estate.

David Gold advises debtors, creditors, and trustees, with an emphasis on the hospitality industry. David has assisted secured lenders, major hotel brands, creditors, and debtors in all aspects of Chapter 11 restructurings, assignments for the benefit of creditors, out-of-court transactions, and general litigation. He also counsels on secured transactions under the Uniform Commercial Code, lien and judgment enforcement, and asset protection.

Experienced in consumer mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loan workouts, David has prosecuted and defended foreclosure and receivership actions for commercial properties, including hotels, office buildings, shopping centers, and single-use properties. David maintains a national real estate practice and concentrates his CMBS and distressed real estate work on the Midwest.

David recently acted as Chapter 11 debtor's counsel for a steel manufacturer serving the construction, agricultural, mining equipment, and power generation industries. He oversaw the successful marketing and sale of the company and the preservation of hundreds of jobs. David also defended a private equity company in breach of fiduciary duty adversary proceedings.
