Chris assists clients with antitrust issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and other commercial transactions, including antitrust filings and government investigations.
Chris Williams counsels on mergers and acquisitions (M&A); joint ventures; intellectual property licensing; and pricing, supply, and distribution agreements. He works with regulatory authorities in China, Japan, South Korea, and Europe on cross-border matters.
Chris advises on all aspects of merger control, including regulatory clearance; transaction structure and antitrust risk allocation in M&A agreements; preparing merger notification filings, including under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act; and advocating for clients in Second Request investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. He directs strategy in merger reviews by foreign competition authorities; advises on remedy proposals and negotiations; represents interested third parties and divestiture buyers; and provides guidance on diligence, integration planning, and other pre-closing matters.
Representing clients ranging from small and emerging firms to large market leaders, Chris works in multiple industries including big data, digital health, chemicals, e-gaming, electronics and computer hardware, software as a service, media and entertainment, healthcare and life sciences, technology, retail, and transportation.
