Employment litigator Chelsea Dwyer Petersen emphasizes complex class-action litigation, pay equity audits, and high-level workplace investigations. She proactively defends clients against discrimination and wage-and-hour class actions as well as collective-action cases. Her experience spans all phases of class cases, from early strategic assessment to trial. 

Chelsea represents employers in claims raised to state and federal enforcement agencies and filed in state and federal court. 

In workplace investigations, Chelsea serves as a neutral investigator while advising clients on critical litigation defense and media strategies. She guides corporate boards, legal departments, and human resources professionals through investigations from allegation through conclusion.      

As a trainer and counselor, Chelsea helps clients minimize litigation risk through trainings and by creating employment handbooks and business policies. She helps employers comply with federal and state statutes, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Washington Law Against Discrimination, and the Washington Minimum Wage Act.

Defeated class certification in a putative wage-and-hour class action involving an alleged class of call center employees.

Lucke, et al. v. Comcast

Resolved individual claims prior to class certification in the defense of a putative wage-and-hour class action involving an alleged class of service technician employees.

Minter v. OfficeMax and companion case Gonzalez v. OfficeMax

Defeated class certification and obtained summary judgment dismissal of Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) claims in consolidated cases related to meals and rest periods.
