Andrew Y. Chen
Andy Chen is a senior discovery attorney with the firm's E-Discovery Services & Strategy practice.
In this position, he counsels clients on the preservation, collection, review and production of electronically stored information, and oversees and manages document reviews, as well as other discovery-related tasks. Andy has worked on a wide range of discovery matters, including trade secret litigation, construction litigation, insurance coverage disputes, false advertising claims, and government investigations. He has conducted responsiveness, confidentiality and privilege review, compiled privilege logs, performed redactions, designed targeted searches, and administered quality control.
Andy is skilled at efficiently analyzing data and deciphering technical subject matter to promote deeper understanding of the case. He has also helped with deposition and trial preparation and assisted with fee motions and trademark enforcement actions. Additionally, Andy has experience with due diligence and contract review, as well as other projects that required analysis of large data sets.
During law school, Andy performed patent analyses in the life sciences field and is a current member of the patent bar. He earned a B.S. in molecular, cellular and developmental biology and performed academic research in a lab that involved deciphering molecular pathways for plant growth. Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Andy practiced in the area of medical malpractice.
