Perkins Coie Advises on Launch of WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund; Among the First to Launch
WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 16, 2024)—Perkins Coie advised WisdomTree Digital Commodity Services, LLC on the launch of the WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund, which is among the first spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products (ETP) in the United States. The fund is listed on the Cboe BZX Exchange.
With Perkins Coie's assistance, WisdomTree began the process to offer the Bitcoin ETP in 2021 with the filing of a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in March 2021. Since this filing, Perkins Coie has advised WisdomTree as it worked to respond to the SEC's comments and address various regulatory matters encountered during the process. This culminated with the SEC granting effectiveness to the Fund's registration statement on January 10, allowing the fund to launch on the Cboe BZX Exchange on January 11.
