PTAB Bar Association Thought Leadership Summit 2023
Perkins Coie sponsored this year's PTAB Bar Association Thought Leadership Summit held at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, Virginia. The summit included panel discussions and roundtable opportunities, along with conversations surrounding post-grant and litigation coordination strategies and pitfalls, motions to amend, ways to handle applicant-admitted prior art, methods surrounding sur-replies and new exhibits, and other timely topics.
Maria Stubbings moderated an interactive table discussion with PTAB judges on topics including Prior Art Stipulations Submitted in Support of IPR/PGR Petitions; Restrictions on Serial/Multiple Petitions; Real Parties-in-Interest, Privity, and Substantial Relationship; Joinder and Its Relationship to Parallel Proceedings and Estoppel; Impact of Amgen v. Sanofi on Disclosure and Enablement Determinations; Obviousness and Design Patents; and Section 101 and Alice Step 2 analysis.
