Saroop Sandhu
Saroop Sandhu assists clients with compliance matters involving internet privacy laws and regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection (TCPA), Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), and federal statute 28 U.S.C. § 1782.
Her practice also includes data security issues and third-party requests for information relating to civil and criminal defense, as well as corporate records.
In addition, Saroop provides support on Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulatory compliance, including FTC consent orders and in FTC investigations. She assists with requests for user data, responding to warrants and inquiries, formulating responses, and conducting legal reviews.
While earning her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Saroop Sandhu served on the board of the Coalition for Diversity and was a member of the Women of Color Collective, South Asian Law Student Association, and the Asian American Law Journal. She was also a part of and later helped lead the Berkeley Law Anti-Trafficking Project.
Saroop also attended Google's Legal Summer Institute, where she gained insight on and learned about the various areas of law handled by an in-house department of a Fortune 500 company. She externed for the Hon. Therese M. Stewart of the First District Court of Appeal, Division Two, in San Francisco.
