FDA Issues New Menu-Labeling Rule

Last week the FDA issued its long-awaited final rule requiring chain restaurants and related retail food establishments, including grocery stores, coffee shops, and movie theaters, to disclose calorie information for standard menu items on menus and menu boards. Covered establishments must also provide additional written nutrition information to customers upon request. Covered establishments have one year from December 1, 2014, to begin complying with the new rule. Read the full update
