Michael Alexander Pratt

Alex Pratt represents management-side clients in the automotive, aerospace, technology, financial services, and manufacturing industries in a range of labor and employment law issues.

A significant focus of Alex's practice includes advising companies on their most complex labor challenges, including labor-management relations, response to union organizing, labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice investigations and litigation, and collective bargaining. He advises on compliance with the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and helps clients navigate National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) charges, including drafting position statements, developing trainings for managers and other stakeholders, and coordinating media. He has handled election hearings involving issues related to unit scope and composition. Recently, Alex provided high-level advice to a multinational transportation client on labor organization matters, including union campaign strategy and emerging issues.

In his employment practice, Alex provides strategic advice to employers on workplace issues including hiring, discipline, termination, employee handbooks and policies, discrimination, harassment, internal investigations, Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), and company property theft. He assists clients, from early advice to and through litigation, mediations, depositions, and hearings. His representations include matters in federal and state courts, and he possesses significant experience before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Committed to his pro bono practice, Alex worked on a team that successfully obtained compassionate release for a federal prisoner in Arkansas at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also has participated in employment counseling for Dallas area nonprofits.
