Alexandra (Alexa) Stemmler
- ESS Counsel
Alexa advises and advocates for clients during all stages of the e-discovery process, from preservation through production and beyond.
Alexa Stemmler also provides guidance on information governance (IG) and records management.
Alexa specializes in matters with large amounts of electronically stored information (ESI), including complex litigation, arbitration, breach response, and investigations. She enjoys collaborating with clients, technologists, and her fellow Perkins Coie lawyers to develop creative solutions to the challenges presented by emerging data.
Some of Alexa's recent experience includes e-discovery management of a suite of high-profile regulatory investigations, voting rights litigation, internal corporate investigations, data breach responses, and product liability matters. On a particularly nuanced commercial litigation, Alexa oversaw an innovative Technology Assisted Review (TAR) workflow, resulting in multiple efficiencies for the client.
Outside of e-discovery, Alexa counsels clients on litigation readiness. She creates comprehensive record retention policies and schedules, keeping current with industry best practices.
Alexa lives in Seattle and volunteers with a local pro bono legal clinic.
