Perkins Coie Appoints Katie O’Sullivan as Executive Committee Chair

SEATTLE (January 6, 2020) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that it has appointed Seattle-based Partner Kathleen M. O'Sullivan as chair of the firm's 16-member Executive Committee.

Katie assumes the role from David McShea, who completed his second two-year term as Executive Committee chair. Katie will lead the Executive Committee's strategic, policy-making and oversight functions and work closely with the firm's Management Committee. The appointment was effective on January 1, 2020.

"Katie is a highly accomplished attorney who has contributed significantly to Perkins Coie's strategic growth and business success," said Firmwide Managing Partner Bill Malley. "She is respected across the firm for her leadership and legal judgment and we're pleased she has accepted the role as chair of the Executive Committee."

Joining Perkins Coie as a summer associate in the Seattle office nearly 25 years ago, Katie became a partner in 2004 and has held several positions of leadership within the firm since then. Over the past three years, she led a team of more than 250 attorneys across 17 U.S. offices as the chair of the firm's Litigation practice.

Katie has served on the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors and chaired the Washington State Commission on Judicial Conduct. She currently serves on the Council of the American Law Institute and the board of directors of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society; Katie is also chair of the board of directors of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.
